NRG Energy Center Harrisburg LLC provides energy-efficient and environmentally sound district heating for buildings in a 1-square-mile area of Harrisburg, Pa.’s, central business district, which includes the Capitol Complex.

The Energy Center generates and distributes steam for use in space heating, domestic hot water heating, humidification and industrial processes. It serves approximately 270 downtown customers totaling 11 million square feet of space.

NRG Energy Center Harrisburg is a wholly owned subsidiary of NRG Thermal LLC, an NRG Energy Inc. company, and is a public utility regulated by the Pennsylvania Public Utilities Commission.
